There are many different bear tattoos you can get and each bear tattoo will have its own meaning from different cultures. In some places the bear is seen as a symbol of loyalty while in other places the bear is a symbol of power or fear. Sifting through the various meanings from different cultures it can be easy to choose which bear tattoo is right for you. Some display power, some display loyalty and others just display a cute little bear, but with a combination of other features to your bear tattoo, you can come up with something that fits you.

If you are looking for a bear tattoo to display power, most people choose the black bear in a traditional pose. There are many different poses or positions that a bear can be in, but one of the most popular is the bear being in an upright position, towering over its prey. Other bear tattoos have been seen with the bear’s mouth wide open, bearing its teeth. These poses and positions display the power of the bear and is an effective way of choosing a powerful tattoo. Grizzly bear tattoos are a great way to show a powerful tattoo design. Having bear claw tattoos are also another way of showing power in your design.

You can have a bear in a more peaceful and calm position rather than in the normal fierce and ready to fight mode. Bear tattoos do not necessarily have to mean anything as some people get even teddy bear tattoos or care bear tattoos for fun. If you ever watch Nitro Circus, even one of the guys on that show got a teddy bear tattoo on his forearm, mostly as a joke, but that joke will  be there forever.

So when it comes to choosing your bear tattoo design be sure to take time to decide why you want a bear tattoo, it could be cultural (if you are Native American), or it could be to show the awesome power of the bear.
