cherry tattoosCherry Tattoos Are A Delicious Choice – Cherry Blossom Tattoo

Cherry tattoos showing cherries with stems still attached represent the freshness of the fruit. Cherries are also seen in tattoos with whipped cream or chocolate symbolizing the good and sweet things in life. Cherries also bring to mind health and well-being. Cherry images are everywhere; you’ll see them on skirts or bobbling around on a pair of flip flops. Getting a cherry tattoo isn’t hard.  They will fit as a stand-alone image a in small place such as the ankle, wrist or inner elbow.

Cherry trees are just a glorious thing to see with the fruit hanging in easy reach, red and ripe glistening in the sun. Each fruit is just a perfect mouthful.  The cherry tree is actually one of the oldest cultivated fruit trees, meaning seeds were taken up and deliberately planted elsewhere by early hopeful cherry enthusiasts starting in 300 B.C. The tree is loved for its beautiful blossoms, magnificent fruit and general loveliness. The cherry was loved by the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians, all of whom used the fruit for cooking and medicine, while the wood sometimes went into the making of ornate boxes or other furnishings.  In China, the cherry blossom has extreme social and cultural significance, especially among the Samurai class.  Throughout Asia, there are festivals celebrating the goodness of the cherry tree.

It is not surprising, given their color and vitality, that cherries are a symbol of fertility in many places the world over.  Some cultures fancy that cherries resemble a lover’s lips, and the skin gives the feeling of a gentle touch. Other than fertility, there’s a strong sexual symbol to be found image of the cherry.  The cherry can be stylized by a clever artist to look like the hips and groin of a female, which is seen in many urban tattoos.  Naturally, most of the time cherries will be seen as red, but there are exceptions. Black cherry tattoos mean fully ripened. Yellow or pink cherry mean mild and sweet and green cherry tattoos are both sweet and colorful.  These colorful tattoo art additions can be part of larger images such as a cherry soda tattoo on your shoulder or as part of a half sleeve tattoo.  Linking the cherry stems creatively around the arm makes a great and very colorful band.  A string of cherries around your toes can look very sexy when you find yourself in bare feet.

Among celebrities who have cherry body art decorations are Ashlee Simpson and model Nikki Fiction.  Ashlee’s is a cherry tattoo on her right ankle while Nikki sports a webbed cherry on her shoulder.

Cherries also lend themselves to various styles.  Urban tattoo cherry comic characters can leer with hard bright eyes from a bicep, while a large bright elaborate tree has a bough heavy with fruit represented on another cherry lover’s chest.
