The symbol of the Pisces is of two fish, very similar to the look of the yin yang. There are many ways you can get this tattoo done on your body. Some people like to hide the Pisces tattoo sign within their other tattoos, while others like to make it stand out. Even yet, some people like to make the Pisces tattoo small and place it on a part of the body that is private or on a small area like the ankle, wrist or top of the feet.

Virgo Tattoos – Why Are They So Popular?

Posted by Tattooaholic

virgo tattoosVirgo tattoos are becoming extremely popular, as many people are developing an interest in astrology. If you are a Virgo and have an interest in tattoos and astrology, then you should consider getting a Virgo tattoo.  In astrology, it symbolizes abundance and the harvest.  People born between Aug. 23 and Sept. 22 are considered to be Virgos.

The personality traits of individuals born under this sign tend to include realism, logical thinking, modesty and analytical intellect.  The negative traits of a Virgo include harshness, extremism and obsession with details.  If you ever find yourself over analyzing minor issues, this is probably why.

Virgo tattoo designs are really popular these days.  The word is derived from the Latin word for virgin.  The symbol for the sign is of a maiden, although it can be drawn as a glyph of the letter M.  If you want the world to know your sign, or if you simply like the symbolism behind Virgo, then you can find numerous tattoo designs on the internet.  You will be amazed over all the artistic possibilities brought about by this sign.

Despite being realists by nature, many Virgos still appreciate the fact that the sign is associated with virgin goddesses and religious icons, such as Mary, Ishtar, Isis and Athena.  Some women feel that having a Virgo tattoo can give them a sense of empowerment, as it symbolizes fertility and abundance.  Also, since Mercury is the ruling planet for Virgos, some people like to incorporate Mercury into their tattoo design.

The M glyph can be drawn in many different ways.  It is quite common to see it drawn with one of the arms curling around the rest of the letter and ending in a tail like design.  In addition to the planet Mercury and maidens, other symbols that go well with the M glyph of Virgo tattoos include flowers and stars.  Virgo is associated with flowers such as chrysanthemums and ivy.  They can be incorporated into Virgo tattoos in a very creative, striking way.  Stars are also really popular with the M glyph.

The colors of Virgo are green and brown.  These are the colors of the Earth; therefore Virgo tattoo designs with an earthy tone are quite popular.  If you want to get a tattoo that represents the Earth, then you can get a Virgo tattoo with flowers. There are many on the internet for you to look through and choose from.  Or, if you want a unique design, you can try sketching out your ideas to convey to your artist.

So, on what body part to people mostly get Virgo tattoos?  They are popular as armbands or on the lower back.  Some people even opt to get this type of tattoo on their stomachs!  It all depends on your personality.  Where do you think a Virgo tattoo would look best on you?

Interested in Horoscope Tattoos? Here are Some Ideas!

Posted by Tattooaholic

Pisces horoscope tattoosThe world has always been fascinated by astrology.  Every culture has had its own zodiac, ever since we began connecting the dots between stars and looking toward the heavens for guidance.  There are twelve classical signs of the Greek zodiac, which many people still believe in today.  If you would like to show off your sign, then you will find countless designs and images of horoscope tattoos on the internet.

Horoscope tattoos all have certain images associated with them:

  • Pisces – fish
  • Aquarius – water bearer
  • Capricorn – goat
  • Sagittarius – archer
  • Scorpio – scorpion
  • Libra – scales
  • Virgo – virgin
  • Leo – lion
  • Cancer – crab
  • Gemini – twins
  • Taurus – bull
  • Aries – ram

Of course, the Chinese horoscope has its own images and symbolism, but Western astrology is more popular in regard to tattoos.  Each of the aforementioned twelve signs all have certain qualities associated with them.  It is believed that everyone born under a certain sign will have a personality influenced by that sign.  Whether you believe that or not, you will still find that horoscope tattoos are really neat appearance-wise.

Even if you do not know much about astrology, you will find dozens of images representing your sign in online tattoo galleries.  Read a bit about your sign and the myths surrounding it for some ideas on including other symbols into your design.  The main symbols are rather simple, so you need to be creative and incorporate more imagery into your design.

Take Aquarius tattoos, for example.  This sign is well known for its new age connection, due to the belief in the “Age of Aquarius”.  Thus, you can include the water bearer symbol into a new age or science fiction theme.  The possibilities for this sign are obviously endless.  Another idea is to combine your horoscope sign with an animal design.  If you are a Leo, then the most obvious choice would be a lion; if you’re an Aries, then you can get a ram tattoo; and so forth.

All Zodiac signs look great when combined with elements such as flowers, hearts, fairies, suns, stars, skulls and crosses.  Also, each sign is associated with one of the four elements, so you could add your element to the design.  If you are an air sign, then add a symbol that reminds you of wind or air.  If your element is fire, then add flames.  For the water element, you can go with a dolphin or mermaid, and for an earth sign, you can choose something that reminds you of the forest or mountains.

So, on which body part do people commonly choose to add horoscope tattoos?  For just a simple sign, the most obvious choices are the ankle or wrist.  Some people choose to go with an armband design.  If you want to go all out and get a big design incorporating everything associated with your sign, then your best bet is to get a back or arm tattoo.  Talk to your artist for some recommendations.
