What You Should Know About Hip Tattoos

Posted by Tattooaholic

Tribal Flower Hip TattoosHip tattoos are a popular choice among women. They are delicate, cool, and naughty. They become the focus of people’s attention. They are tantalizing when worn with the right clothes and accessories. The hips are considered to be more of a feminine area and hence very few men get a tattoo in that region. Also, men would find it difficult to flaunt these tattoos. The designs could be something as simple as a strawberry, a rose, a star, a butterfly, or an angel to something more intricate and bigger. Women also like getting their loved one’s name inscribed. But when the relationship goes awry, getting the name removed could be truly painful.

Hips are not a very comfortable area for a tattoo because there is not much fat and the pelvic bone is not protected sufficiently. Many girls do not mind going through this pain and also taking extra precautionary measures during the healing period. The fact that it could take a long time to heal does not deter a person from getting hip tattoos. Some people get complementary tattoos on either hip–a bow and an arrow or an angel and the evil spirit, for instance. Something as exotic as a dragon or something as minimal as an inscription could also be tattooed. But, a simple design that is essentially just an outline would be great, if you do not want to visit the tattoo studio often for a refilling session.

A great place to check out ideas for hip tattoos would be the online forums. There are some websites that even let you design your patterns. You may be charged a certain fee for this, but when you see your idea translate into a real motif, it is worth it. You could take the design to your artist and ask for a replica to be made on your hips. The tattoo books and catalogs at the studio would also have some great ideas. Just because the designs have to be small does not mean that you would run out of choice. There is so much to choose from. If you do not mind the sting and the soreness, you could even experiment a little bit. Ask your tattoo artist to make a sensual pattern. Get something that would complement your personality.

If you have decided that hip tattoos are for you, you must find out about not just the pain that they would cause, but also everything about the motif you want to sport. You are most likely to “feel” these hip tattoos than a tattoo done on your arm or chest. Though smaller designs are easier to make, some people get a larger tattoo that runs from the torso to the hip. Tattoo removal is painful and if it is in an area that is as delicate as the hips, you must take extra care to ensure that the tattoo you get is what you want. Do not get anything that you are not completely happy with. Take your time and zero in on the motif. You do not want to regret later and get a new tattoo done over the original design.
